Sleeping Angels was created by Chris Morgan, following her work as a funeral celebrant and her experience supporting families through the loss of a much longed-for baby. Time is so precious in these moments, and families often want to do everything they can to honour their little one with love, gentleness and care.
Chris has lovingly handmade each item in the Sleeping Angels collection and would also like to thank Horsham Knitters, who have kindly contributed nests and shawls.

Sleeping Angels is a small, handmade collection of garments created especially for stillborn babies from approximately 10 to 30 weeks’ gestation. Each piece is lovingly made with care and compassion for families facing the heartbreak of saying goodbye far too early.
Thanks to a Government initiative, parents can now apply for an official Certificate of Recognition for babies lost before 24 weeks. This thoughtful gesture acknowledges your loss and offers a meaningful way to honour your little one’s memory.

There’s a wonderful range of baby clothes available on the high street and online, but for very small premature babies and babies lost during pregnancy, choice is sadly limited.
Sleeping Angels offers a collection of lovingly handmade garments for babies from approximately 10 to 30 weeks’ gestation. Each piece has been thoughtfully created to provide comfort, dignity and care during an incredibly difficult time.
We have a selection of tiny gowns, baby nests, Tiny Cwtchers and Little Cwtchers ready and waiting in our studio (RH20 2NA), or they can be posted to you. Garments are made in a variety of small sizes and can usually be delivered within a short timeframe.
Our Tiny Cwtchers are designed for the very smallest babies, approximately 10 to 13 weeks, while Little Cwtchers and small gowns may be suitable from around 14 to 20 weeks. For babies between 21 and 30 weeks, we offer a selection of gowns and nests.
Both Tiny Cwtchers and Little Cwtchers feature two little pockets at the front, designed to hold precious messages for your baby.

For babies over 30 weeks, suitable clothing is generally available through quality baby clothing retailers online.
All of our garments are created entirely out of love, not for profit. There is no fixed price, but you are welcome to make a small donation to SANDS if you wish.

A Note About Dress Donations
Thank you so much for your kind and generous offers of precious wedding dresses for little Sleeping Angels. This gesture means such a lot to families who have lost a little one.
Fortunately, I have a lovely collection of garments at the moment and, as a result, I am unable to take any more dresses at this time, as I would never want to waste such a cherished item.

Our Sleeping Angels garments are lovingly handmade using soft, gentle fabrics and yarns chosen to be kind to delicate skin. Each item is thoughtfully created with comfort and dignity in mind, particularly for very small premature babies and stillborn babies.
Gowns
Our lovely soft cotton gowns come in a selection of plain and patterned fabrics. Designed with a back opening and ribbon ties for gentle dressing, each gown is long in length with an elasticated hem, similar to a baby sleeping bag, allowing tiny feet to be tucked inside with care.
Smaller gowns may be suitable for babies from approximately 14 to 20 weeks, while other sizes are available for babies up to around 30 weeks.
Baby Nests
Our knitted baby nests are soft, cosy and stretchy, designed to gently cocoon your baby like a sleeping bag. Each nest features a little hood and ribbed knit design, offering comfort and a gentle fit.
Nests may be suitable for babies from approximately 21 to 30 weeks, depending on their individual size.
Tiny Cwtchers
Our Tiny Cwtchers are lovingly handmade soft cotton pouches, designed especially for the very smallest babies, approximately 10 to 13 weeks’ gestation.
The word cwtch is Welsh for cuddle, and we hope these tiny garments offer a gentle and comforting way to care for your little one.
Little Cwtchers
Our Little Cwtchers are handmade from soft brushed cotton and provide a gentle, cosy place for tiny babies to rest.
They may be suitable for babies from approximately 14 to 20 weeks’ gestation, depending on their individual size.
Hats and Bootees
A selection of soft knitted hats and bootees, made with love in a range of colours and tiny sizes. These sets are a simple and beautiful way to keep your little one cosy.
Shawls
Our delicate shawls are hand-knitted in soft yarn and available in different sizes and colours. Each one is created with care to gently wrap and honour your baby.

For babies between approximately 14 and 20 weeks, a Little Cwtcher or one of our smaller handmade gowns may be suitable.
Our Little Cwtchers are made from soft brushed cotton, while our gowns are thoughtfully designed to allow gentle dressing with as little disturbance as possible.
Gown or Baby Nest
For babies between approximately 21 and 30 weeks, we offer a selection of lovingly handmade gowns and soft knitted baby nests.
Our gowns feature gentle back openings and ribbon ties to make dressing easier, while our knitted nests provide a soft, cosy place for your little one to rest.

The UK Government now offers a free, optional Certificate of Recognition to acknowledge the loss of a baby before 24 weeks of pregnancy.
